Gannet Cove

Challenge: Capture the view, but maintain privacy. Located in a private cul-de-sac in Old Lakeway, the site for the Gannet Cove house is a beautiful, albeit challenging, property. The back of the lot features a year-round stream flowing directly into Lake Travis, and it only is visible through a steep drop that is heavily treed. The house was situated on the lot to accommodate the client’s desire for the featured container pool overhanging the steep drop. Exterior materials serve to present a clean-line, modern street view, with just a peek through the oversized glass pivot door through the house to the lush and full tree canopy beyond. The house feels like a treehouse, with the back completely opening up with large paneled floor-to-ceiling glass to give the client a panoramic view of the gorgeous natural landscape.
